People

We define people in the context of employees (associates, partners, team members, workers, labor or human capital). Pieces for Profit outlines the steps to maximize the potential of people in your organization.

A sensible approach to finding and keeping the right people in your organization is the 4 R’s:

  • Recruiting
  • Retraining
  • Rewarding
  • Retention

Because talent does not necessarily equate to success, people must first be assigned to  the correct Roles (the fifth “R”). Success is more likely if people and roles are matched perfectly.

Pieces for Profit outlines a 2-step approach to match the right people to the right roles. Roles are defined and rated on Strategic Effect onyour organization and Performance Variability from person to person. A diagram charts people on an A, B, C and D scale.

Similarly, people’s effectiveness is calculated on Cultural Fit with the organization and Performance. A diagram also charts A, B and C people in roles. There is no place for D roles in your organization – eliminate these as they have no strategic impact.

AL²ASM for People

AL²A is a newly created process to evaluate people performance and alignment to measure emotional engagement. This leads to the creation of action plans devoted to organizational strategy and success. AL²A represents:

  • Ask
  • Listen
  • Learn
  • Act

AL²A provides organizations with an opportunity to assess your people’s (employees’) current reality. The present situation is contrasted with a desired situation and attainable goals are set to reach the desired situation. AL²A clarifies how people feel about their role in the organization as well as their level of engagement. People will tell you if they are aligned, and this is crucial information to move forward in your strategic efforts.

“Yeghiaian has created a thorough and comprehensive book on a set of related topics. I would recommend it as a great ‘how to’ resource for integrating strategy, people and customers inside any organization. Leaders can effectively build a company from the ground up with the aid of this material. The newly created AL²A process is an innovative perspective and great approach to get customers engaged in the very process used to serve them.”
