About

This is a book about Strategy, People and Customers. It is geared toward you. If you’re reading this book, you want your organization to achieve greater success by maximizing profitability and/or you simply want to continuously learn.

Several years ago, I attended Franklin Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” workshop. If you have ever read Stephen Covey’s book on this topic or attended the workshop, you know a key item is to write a personal mission statement. This is something I took seriously and continually thought about and worked on for several weeks after the workshop ended. The result led to the creation of my own firm. Its main objective is my personal mission and passion: to help others (organizations and people) continuously improve by becoming more productive and successful.

Based on this, I was determined to “practice what I preach” and began reflecting on one question: How can organizations become more profitable and successful?

For more than 15 years, I have partnered with and observed hundreds of organizations and thousands of business professionals across many industries. Based on these experiences, I developed an effective organizational model, tested across these industries, with consistent success.

The model includes three elements – Strategy, People and Customers. While there are other books and research supporting each of these – Strategy, People and Customers – separately, I do not believe there are any portraying them together as a puzzle. This book provides you with a vision of how the three work interdependently to help you continuously improve by becoming more profitable and successful.

The analyses, experiences and examples illustrate their inter-relationship. I use the term puzzle, because as you solve a puzzle, you begin with those pieces that make the most sense to you. While this organizational model has only three pieces – Strategy, People and Customers – like a puzzle, all pieces need to fit together to maximize your productivity and profitability. Which piece you begin with may not matter as much as completing the puzzle.
